We recently moved in to The Alexander built by MC Homebuilders. We wanted to make you aware of how happy we were with the process, and especially our sales person – Alex Ludtke.
Although we are originally from the Washington County area, at the time we selected our lot, plan and built the home – we were living 800 miles away in Western North Carolina. We scheduled a few trips “back home” when we could, but Alex’s constant communication with us during the design and building process, was invaluable.
Starting at the beginning, we were looking at a model on your website. We liked the “price your home” feature, and started there. After receiving a speedy reply, and considering costs, we politely let Alex know that we probably wouldn’t be building with you. However, Alex didn’t give up. He emailed – without being pushy – and floated out an idea — taking a smaller model and customizing it to get exactly what we wanted. Interesting!
Alex worked with us throughout the design process. He listened carefully to what was important to us, and made suggestions. We had an idea of what we wanted – but Alex helped pull it all together. A formal dining room was important to us – but so was a “hearth room” — where we could “bring the outside, in”. This was an unusual request, as we also wanted a 2 way fireplace connecting the great room to the hearth room – but also a kitchen that wasn’t completely open concept. Listening to our life/style, Alex suggested arches – perfect for the look we were trying to obtain. He worked patiently with us as we made all the selections. He explained very clearly what was included, and what was an upgrade. It was great to be able to spend a few hours in your showroom with Alex, and get all the selections done in one trip. We also had specific requests for kitchen layout – and Alex suggested taking the Lodi (showing us pictures) and modifying it to work in our model.
When it came time to pick paint colors, we mailed Alex samples, and asked many questions, as we were making choices from a distance. We couldn’t be more pleased with how the inside and outside painting and staining turned out. (Jim our Expediter helped on the outside choices regarding door trims, etc.)
In our opinion, Alex went “above and beyond” the call of duty. He was always professional, returned calls and emails quickly – often on weekends or evenings if needed, and if he didn’t know an answer to one of our incessant questions – he found out, and got back to us with facts.
We are flattered that our design (which took parts from the Hawthorne, Lodi and Princeton models) ended up being one of the models on your website. Naming it The Alexander was a fitting tribute!
We were also hapy with our Expeditor (Jim D) and the office professionals (Dawn, David). When we signed the contract, we let Alex know we had a grand baby due in November, and wanted to be in by November 1. We actually got occupancy on the 10th, and the baby came a week later. We were happy that our home was constructed – start to finish – within the timeframe requested.
We have thanked Alex, but also wanted to let you know what an asset Alex was to our entire process.
